I love beer, you probably love beer, its just something we enjoy after a long day of nagging from a boss or screaming from a customer. But I bet a lot of you had no idea there were health benefits to drinking beer, so here they are, 10 healthy reasons to go ahead and open a cold one! (in moderation of course)

Researchers at the German Cancer Research Center discovered that Beer contains an ingredient called Xanthohumol which is found in hops, that is an antioxidant known to prevent cancers such as prostate and breast cancer.

According to a study published in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, people who drank a moderate amount of beer were 41% less likely to get kidney stones.
8. Keep Your Brain Thinking!
Xanthohumol, a compound found in the hops used to flavor beer has been found in recent studies to prevent degenerative diseases like Alzheimers and parkinsons. Although it still won’t prevent you from forgetting that you jumped on a table and sang Katy Perry last night. MODERATION!

Researchers in Italy found that beer drinkers who drank moderately had a 42 percent lower risk of heart disease compared to non-drinkers. They advise to keep your consumption to one pint and at around 5 percent alcohol by volume a day.

According to a study in the journal of Consciousness and Cognition, drinking beer can give your creativity a boost, the researchers made 40 men watch a movie while completing verbal puzzles, and discovered the guys who had a good buzz going on with a blood alcohol of .075 solved the problems a few seconds faster than their sober counterparts. Researchers at the Institute for Research in Extramural Medicine in the Netherlands disovered that drinking in moderation lowered the risks of Type-2 diabetes by 30 percent!

Now this one will be a surprise to many of you meat heads out there, researchers at Granada University in Spain asked students to exercise until their body temperature reached 104 degrees and then had them re hydrate with beer or water, and against all logic discovered those who had a pint of beer after their workout were slightly more hydrated than those who had water…Who needs Gatorade when you got a nice cold brewski!

Whats that saying? An apple a day keeps the doctor away? well apparently that saying also holds true for lagers and stouts! Canadian researchers found that one beer a day increases antioxidant activity that can prevent cataracts from forming in the eyes. But be sure to keep it below thee drinks a day or as they discovered, the opposite effect will occur.

Scientists at Oregon Health & Science University partied hard with some monkeys, after they vaccinated them first, then gave some less radical monkeys sugar water. The party monkeys who didnt party too hard had better vaccine responses than those who consumed the sugar water. but for the monkeys that went too hard had less of a response to the vaccines, but at least they had a totally bad ass night that they totally wont remember in the morning!
