The Smashing Pumpkins reunion is gathering pace, first with the release of a new track and, now, a late-night TV performance.
Billy Corgan got the old band back together for a stint in the recording studio and a tour, which is due to kick off next month. The first release from those sessions, “Solara,” dropped last Friday, marking the first time Corgan has released new material with James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin in 18 years.
As promised, the band dropped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, where they were joined with longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder for a performance of “Solara” and “Zero,” from their classic 1995 double-album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
It’s all a warm up for the Shiny And Oh So Bright tour, which starts July 12 in Arizona.
