Walmart To Debut Vegan Pot Pies This Summer!

By June 5, 2018Lifestyle

Do you ever miss the warm, crunchy, creaminess of a pot pie? Apparently, a lot of plant-based eaters did too. In October, Walmart stores across the nation will begin stocking a new line of vegan pot pies by the plant-based company, Alpha Foods.

The line of frozen handheld pot pies will include flavors like Beefy Cheddar, Buffalo Chick’n, Chick’N Veggie, and Pizza, all of which are inside a flaky, golden pastry. These delicious meat-free protein meals taste authentic, and will easily make you forget about the meat-filled pot pies of yesteryear. Inside, you’ll even find a plethora of vegan cheeses and sauces.

Alpha Foods CEO, Loren Wallis, told VegNews, “Our ultimate goal is to appeal to vegans and non-vegans alike and to offer new frozen food alternatives that help support the planet and the creatures on it—both two-legged and four.” The California-based company also has a line of hearty frozen burritos, and are coming out with Alpha burgers, Alpha dogs, grumbles, and meatless meatballs.

Their website states, “Why did we go to such lengths to create foods that are 100% plant-based? Because we know that plant-based foods are good for our health, improve animal welfare, and support a more sustainable world. It’s a choice we feel good about, and we hope you do too.”
